Native to Southern California I was born in Compton California and raised in Rialto California. I graduated college from California State University LosAngeles and shortly there after began my career as a teacher. I taught at Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary school in Watts California for two years before relocating to Houston Texas where I taught third and fourth grade for 7 years. I recently moved back home to California from Houston and am so excited to be teaching in my home state again!
I am a teacher who emphasizes hard work; I enjoy helping my students succeed educationally and am a firm believer that learning can be fun and engaging while at same time challenging and relevant to our daily lives. I want my students to experience meaningful, interesting learning that applies to their lives, in and out of school. I believe that this can best be accomplished through the use of hands-on/minds-on activities, cooperative learning, integrated curriculum, and technology. I feel that my energetic approach to teaching, my compassion for the love of education, as well as my ability to relate to students in a firm, yet kindhearted manner is what makes me a great teacher. My goal is to make every student love learning and to feel as I do, that education is the key that will unlock the door to a better future.
